In addition to the tower, tower cranes, which are used by being fixed to the structure, have a load-carrying arm. The load-carrying arm is called the BOM. The bom width allows the load to be transported horizontally. The part called the tower is referred to as the height. Tower crane models are available from 11 meters to 200 meters, and even higher. Tower cranes have a load-carrying capacity of approximately 1.5 tons to 10 tons.

Points to Consider When Using a Tower Crane

A tower crane must absolutely be operated by a "tower crane operator". Care must be taken to ensure that the ground in the area where the crane is used is stable and that the tower is securely fixed. The crane must be inspected before use to determine if there are any problems with the ropes or other components. In case of any problem, assistance should be obtained from an authorized service center, and the crane should be used after the damage is repaired. Windy weather can disrupt the balance of the tower crane. Therefore, tower cranes should not be operated in winds with a speed of up to 50 km per hour. After the tower crane is stopped, the power supply should be cut off. There should be no human traffic in the area where the crane is used, and the crane's load-carrying arm should not be moved over people.
