What is the Advantage of Wooden Pallets Over Other Pallet Models?

What are the General Criteria in Wooden Pallet Manufacturing?

In today's market, wooden pallet models, used in all stages from the beginning to the end of the supply chain, ensure the effective processing of this process in the most effective ways. With palletizing, all transported goods are always transported and stored more effectively, and their durability increases due to their fixation, thus minimizing the possibility of damage. Accordingly, wooden pallets made of timber are used in the most effective ways in special packaging made to prevent all goods sold domestically and internationally from being damaged during transport. Nylon-like materials are passed over and under the wooden pallets, which are then banded with steel or plastic straps. The density of the timbers is generally related to their durability and also to the ease or difficulty of removing the nails driven into them. At the same time, if the density of the timbers is higher than 640 kg/m3 after drying, they are not used for packaging. Similarly, timbers with a density lower than 350 kg/m3 do not show sufficient durability to produce wooden pallets and wooden packaging, so their use is not recommended. The moisture content of the timbers to be used for wooden pallets should generally be between 15% and 20%. This ratio always carries importance for wooden pallets after drying, in terms of timber shrinkage and weight savings in transportation.

What to Know in Wooden Pallet Manufacturing

It is absolutely not recommended to use timber cut specifically for the production of wooden pallet models, even if it has minor damage. For wooden pallets and packaging, and also for nailing materials, the use of corrugated or special toothed nails should always be preferred. For these pallet models, it should be ensured that timbers of the most suitable size are selected for producing boxes or crates, thus having an important place for both economic reasons and for the durability of the resulting packaging. The weights of the products or other goods to be placed on the pallets or inside the wooden packaging are another issue to be considered when choosing packaging.
