What is Piezo, How is it Applied
How is Piezo Rhinoplasty Performed?
New methods developed for use in aesthetic surgery lead to both an easier operation and more successful results. The piezo technique, which has started to be used in parallel with technological developments, is also attracting attention as a method frequently used in rhinoplasty.
Advantages of Piezo Rhinoplasty
What is piezo? Piezo, a technique with the ability to shape the nasal bone by vibrating, started to be used in rhinoplasty in the 1980s. The most important feature of this technique is that it shapes the nasal bone without breaking it. It was developed as an alternative to tools such as chisels and files used in traditional methods and is sensitive to soft tissue. The device, which does not work on soft tissue, works on bone tissue, allowing the bone to be given the desired shape. Surgeries performed with this technique are easier than other methods. The basis of this technique, which also provides more successful results, is ultrasonic sound waves. The nasal bone, shaped by vibrating sound waves, is easily brought to its desired form. The device, which has tissue selectivity, does not work on soft tissue. Bruising and swelling seen after classic rhinoplasty surgery are not seen after operations performed with this technique. Bleeding seen after surgery is not observed.
