How to Use the Foam System
Fire cabinets are designed and manufactured with human intervention in mind, not with an automatic design. Cabinet dimensions should be a minimum of 600 x 700 x 160 mm. It must comply with standards, featuring a rubber hose made of at least 10 kgf/cm2 pressure-resistant rubber and canvas, along with a fire hydrant. The hose end should have a nozzle and be securely attached. Fire hoses should be placed as required. This varies depending with the system inside the cabinet. Fire hoses wound on a reel can also be folded and placed inside the cabinet according to the system's features. Hoses should never be placed or folded in haste, but with utmost care. Any mishap during a fire means lost minutes in human lives. Hoses ranging from 10 to 30 meters should have their lengths chosen according to the space. The foam system, an effective system for liquid fires, extinguishes highly flammable materials such as oil and gasoline by spraying a mixture of foam concentrate, pressure, and air in a pressurized manner, creating a complete cover over them.
Distance Between Fire Equipment
Fire cabinets, which must be present in various companies, hotels, bazaars, apartment buildings, large shopping malls, and workshops, should be located on each floor in multi-story spaces. Cabinets should be approximately 90 cm above the ground, and the weight of the extinguisher inside should not be less than 4 kilograms or more than 13 kilograms. Furthermore, attention should be paid to mounting the ring that secures the extinguisher to the wall in an easily accessible manner. In large areas exceeding 2000 square meters, they are placed at 30-meter intervals, while in areas where sprinkler systems can be used, this can extend to 45 meters. It operates with a system that adheres to the outer surface, prevents the leakage of exploding gases, stops their release, and maintains this protection for a long time. It has features that protect chemical substances like a protective shield. There are different types of sprinkler systems for each space. The system, like all fire equipment, should be kept inside the fire cabinet. Additionally, it allows for easy use thanks to foam-supporting parts.
